My Last Blog =(

Today is the last day of class, and I presented my perverted children's story. I pretty much got the reaction I was hoping to get, the ending was sad and I really wanted people to be shocked by it. The theme throughout my book was exaggerated and colorful, I wanted everything to pop off the page. The only problem with the book is that I actually never got a chance to create the cover, so you know where the book begins and ends, since it is a 2 sided accordian book. The reason I made my book perverted was to stress all of the innuendos and subliminal messages hidden in children's book's and television shows. A good example of a book title that seems almost innappropriate is "There's a Wocket in My Pocket," by Dr. Seuss. I was trying to portray something almost like him, to have the whole book have a flowing rhyme, and too make it sound almost innappropiate - and to have the pictures portray that also.
I am really pleased with the outcome of my book, but if I was to do it again I would definitely change a few things. I would want it to look more professional, and printed out instead of the cut-out theme I used throughout the book.
This definitely isn't the end of that book, I know that there are still a lot of things it could definitely use, so when I get bored I'm probably going to work more on it.

But yea, that's about it. Thanks for making class a good time Brian, and I hope you have a good summer!

My final project

Ok, so I'm basing my final project on how there are subliminal messages, more so sexual innuendos in children's and on the television. So I am going to make my own perverted children's book to kind of demonstrate this. It will be written in poem form and the verses will seem not so bad, but I want my illustrations to be the shocking part.
The book is going to look like an accordian, and I am really excited to finish it.
Lately I've been just fixing my story over and over trying to get it to be PERFECT.
This is going well the only thing I am really having trouble with is how I am going to set up the book.

I think I am going to draw the whole thing out, and then scan it into the computer, and then use Illustrator to illustrate it, so that it looks more professional.

I DON'T KNOW, this whole thing just seems so out of reach and like I'll never finish or something, so now is the TIME to STEP IT UP.

But I have a feeling that this will all work out in the end, I HOPE.

ANIMALS AND COLORs!

From color matters dot com I learned that Bees and Butterflies can see colors that humans can't see! They can see a range of colors that extend into the ultraviolet! A pit viper actually feels heat for objects and actually doens't see anything at all, which to me would be scary. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't see anything at all, I appreciate my eyeballs.
For animals that are on the land, like squirrels and monkey's they have really good color vision. The reasoning is because it helps them to pick out food thats ripe compared to unripe and even helps them find their mates because color play a big part on that too. They can see way better than a cat or a dog, who can make out the colors but they are very dull.
example!
Here's what a human sees!

And this is what your dog would see.

I got those two pictures from colormatters.com too -- I really like this website because so far today it has taught me a few things that I would never have known unless someone told me. And thank god it is all actually interesting stuff.
check it out!

colormatters.com

There is this really interesting website I found called Colormatters.com and it has all different things about colors from how it effects us to what colors mean. I just read an article ( http://www.colormatters.com/body_pink.html ) on how they put a bubble-gum pink color in some jail cells to calm violent prisoners. It was saying that no matter how aggressive or angry someone would try to get in a room that color, that it is somewhat impossible because they say it is a tranquilizing color that saps your energy. We've all talked about how color affects the body together a billion times, but I thought the bubble-gum pink one was pretty interesting.

They also have things on there about how color can affect taste and smell also, I don't really want to copy what they put down, but it is interesting and anyone who looks at this blog should just check out the website for a minute it's pretty cool.

COLOR!!!!!

I'm beginning to wish that my life was in black and white. Cause with all these color blogs brian I'm starting to wish that there was no color.
Which makes me think about dreams. I have always dreamt in color, but there are some people that I know that say they only dream in black and white.
Personally I think that most people do dream in color, but some may not notice colors in their dreams. Because color is so natural that we sometimes overlook colors in our dreams. I know that sometimes the dream memory fades so quickly that I only end of remembering it in shades of gray, like I can't recall any color at all, but while I am in it I recognize colors a lot. I have been having the weirdest dreams where I've been put in game situations, but I am at my house and only certain things were colored brightly so I only noticed them. My walls were yellow and my umbrella was pink. But i think that this is only because I long to be home. My bedroom is bright yellow, and I do have a pink umbrella. But in dreams colors can mean certain things. Like this one time I had a dream where I kept changing the color of my car and my grandma was paying for it. But she finally decided on this forest green -- which was her favorite color. After she passed away, I was having dreams where everything was completely green, and everything blended into eachother and all I could notice was my grandmother in technicolor - which is really weird. But I liked that dream a lot, it brought back a lot of memories.
I don't know why I was really thinking about that, I just think stuff like that is really interesting.

Coler Interaction

So last week we did what was called color interaction. We had to take three different colors and put them together to give the illusion that one of the colors was actually two seperate colors. Does that make sense? Yeah. So I found this project really very interesting. I liked the fact that colors can definitely play tricks on your eyes to make you see something that is not.
I really liked this project because it made me see colors in a completely different way, and I really enjoyed it.
Hmm what else about color?
Oh how about the new color project we have. I really dont' know what to do only because I'm not very good with illustrator - and even though I have other choices I don't really know what I'm going to do.

I have a lot to think about

Orange

Photobucket

When I saw this I just laughed so incredibly hard.
Poor Orange. It's such a nice color he didn't really deserve all that.

But yeah, on with my blog.
I guess I'll talk about me sarah and sara painting our faces.
It was so much fun, even though I felt like I couldn't move my eyelids and all the paint was in my nose and ears.
Sara got it all in her hair, and Sarah robbins was so damn clean. I wish I was that clean. All of our individual styles came out on our faces, which was really cool to see. Sara Winston being the sloppiest most care free and sarah's being the most neat and clean. I wish I had a picture on here to post but, I'll find one and throw it in here as soon as I get a chance. It looked so neat once we were done. So props to Sarah robbins for comin up with the idea to paint our faces to show Analagous, Monochromatic, and Complimentary colors made from Blue. Our face's were pallettes. So that was cool.

colorr again

I love color, where would I be in this world without color? One of my friends is color blind and I think about how much that would suck all the time. His life is probably so boring (but normal for him). It sucks that he can't see how beautiful the sky can be sometimes especially at sunset, all the purple, pink, yellow and orange hues. It sucks how he'll never tell the difference from a pink rose to the purest red rose ever, and how he'll never be able to tell the recycling bin from the garbage bin. He always wears the same color scheme too, a black shirt and some blue jeans, white pair of shoes.
Thank god I was born wiht the ability to see colors or I don't know what I would do. Most likely nothing.

Color me timbers!

So for this blog I decided to write about the connections between people and their favorite colors.
My best friend Mook loves, Loves, LOVES the color green. I'd have to say mainly a bright lime green but she also appreciates the original green too. I'm comparing her favorite color now to her personality. She's very down to earth, and considering we live in the mountains she's all about hiking, and nature. Not to mention she is a fun spunky person which is where the lime green comes out of this interpretation. Also she can be stubborn and or greedy which kind of ties in with the way green can make you feel or how to determine something.
For me my favorite color is red. To me that shows that I can be determined, and definitely girly sometimes. Along with that I see red as a powerful persuasive color. I see it as a color that says your mood can changes quickly as your mind and I can be very opinionated. I link Red with those feelings because you can see red as making you angry, or even anxious but I'll stick with a mediocre angry for me with the color red cause I dont see myself as a psycho bloodthirty killer bitch, but I definitely speak my mind and I like to take the lead every now and then.
My girl April's favorite color is Orange. This color goe's with her so well because although Orange is a bright loud color, April is very very organized. She's also an interior designer and very artsy so I love how this color really brings out the April in April. She's fun but is serious so this color even's her personality out quite a bit. My friend Jane and Kat are all about the color blue. Both blonde equipped with blue eyes you can see one of the reasons why they love the color. Not to mention they are both very chill people who love the sound of the ocean. Both calm people but overall like to have fun. Blue I see as a chill color, mainly with a happy outlook, and I think blue is a good color for the both of them too.
I think doing this comparison wiht color and personality is very interesting, and believe it or not I'm sure your favorite color says alittle something about you too!

Colooors!

I picked the first picture because I like how these few totally different feeling colors fit together on one composition. The garbage and brown leaves remind me, of just... dirt or just the feeling of being unclean. But up next to a festive purple and green swirl I don't know what to think about it. Now it's just confusing since they are two totally different feelings. Unless you like to be dirty and festive all at once. =] But just because of that I like this picture a lot.
