Performance Artist - Allan Kaprow

This might have no relevancy to performance art at all, but I was wondering if the guys from Jackass would be considered Performance Artists. They had skits, and would perform violent or just down right dangerous acts to themselves or to others. Mostly they did all of their skits in public. So would that be considered a performance art, or no because they don't consider themselves as performance artists?

Anyway Allan Kaprow was apparently a well renowned Performance Artist. He was born in August of 1927 and died April 2005. Allan was an american painter, and what they call a 'pioneer' in establishing the idea for performance art. Which means he had to help develop the "environment" for it which is also known as installation art. (Which I'm a HUGE fan of.) I love how performance and installation artists like to examine other peoples behavior and habits. It's all very interesting to see it be put into an art that is 3D. It's right there in front of you like a mirror to show the viewer how they react, or how their behavior and habits have contributed to the project itself.
Hopefully one day, I can do the same and become a serious installation artist or something like that.
Bye Brian!
